Catholic Campus Ministry at SMU formed its own Knights of Columbus chapter in 2013 to support the principals of charity, unity and fraternity among Catholic men on campus.
The Knights of Columbus was formed in 1882 as a fraternal benefit society to render financial aid to members and their families. Mutual aid and assistance are offered to sick, disabled and needy members and their families. Social and intellectual fellowship is promoted among members and their families through educational, charitable, religious, social welfare, war relief and public relief works.
At SMU, the Knights of Columbus serve as the Service arm of our Catholic community, organizing prayer and service opportunites for our campus, such as Lenten Fish Frys, First Friday Adoration, and Service Saturdays.
